Our Story
We first tried CBD for our son after he was disabled by an antibiotic he was given for bronchitis. Nathaniel went from having waves of pain every 5-10 minutes that were so severe he’d cry out and couldn’t function without a wheel chair, to fewer and fewer waves that were less intense. We watched our son transform over the months as he began to sleep, walk and gain back the weight he had lost due to the numerous food allergies he had suddenly developed. None of the medications we were given by the doctors were as effective and side effect free as CBD.
Paul had been injured by a car accident which left him with multiple spinal cord injuries. Years of over the counter painkillers gave him ulcers and opiates so drastically affected his health that they were not an option. Paul has tried various therapies and drug free options including burning nerve endings. After seeing the relief his son experienced Paul decided to try CBD for himself. Jocelyn also believed CBD might help her manage the symptoms of a drug induced brain/body injury she had from a combination of a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, an SNRI and a Benzodiazepine.
After traveling around the country to try various products we found that not all CBD oils are alike. What’s more, many people can’t even afford to use a high quality product because they are so expensive. Is CBD Safe and Legal?
Non-Addictive
CBD is not an addictive substance. In 2017 the World Health Organization reported after months of investigation that: “ In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential”.
Safe
Studies have also shown CBD to very safe with a low side effect profile limited mainly to drowsiness, loose bowels and possible drug interactions due to its interaction with the Cytochome P450 Enzymes. In it’s 2017 report, the WHO states that there is “no evidence of public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD”.
Legal
The recommendation from the international health organization is that CBD should not be scheduled for international control, meaning nations should not be restricted from accessing CBD in any way. The US Federal stance on CBD and hemp is different from state laws, which vary and are often ambiguous. Leefly has done it’s due diligence in contacting the Utah DEA and making certain that we are in compliance with any regulations that may be enforced.

Processing cannabis or hemp plants using heat or multiple times to extract more cannabidiol causes the CBD molecules to break down, changing how they attach to your CB1 and CB2 receptors. The less integrity the molecules have, the less they work with your endocannabinoid system.
